Our very own Dr. Reilly has been having a tough time with her Achilles in this beautiful running weather. She is taking some time to do some posterior chain strengthening at home, massage therapy thanks to @aarongunnwellness and radial and focused shockwave to increase blood flow and stimulate healing to the calf musculature and the tendon itself. Radial shockwave is a great way to target those large muscles and the focused shockwave unit is ideal for pinpoint tenderness. Using a high powered sound wave, the areas of pain and muscular restriction are sent a signal to create micro trauma to the tissue so that the body is signaled to send platelets to the tissue so that it can repair and regenerate.
