Project Onward’s mission: CREATE | CONNECT | INSPIRE CHANGE
• To provide artists with disabilities the opportunity to create their work in a safe, supportive studio environment, with access to work space, materials, and professional guidance;
• To connect artists with disabilities with the arts community and the general public, through the professional exhibition and sale of their work, and through public programs designed to foster audience participation;
• To inspire change by using art to promote empathy and reduce the stigma of mental illness and developmental disabilities; to improve the self-image of artists through the social and economic value of their work; and to cultivate new audiences in the art market by increasing awareness of, and demand for, artwork created by people with disabilities.

CALLING ALL CHICAGO ARTISTS!! It's that time to start saving those scraps again! The 2026 Art On Cardboard Show is coming up on November 20th. Curated by the Pocius brothers MIKE and AL (AKA the Birdhouse Museum of Bridgeport) the show is open for submissions!
Bring your pieces to the studio at 1200 W. 35th on the 4th Floor at Project Onward on Saturday, November 7th between 12-5 to participate!
All submissions must follow the following requirements:
1) Art must be on cardboard
2) Maximum size of 16X20 inches or smaller
3) Individual art ONLY (No groups please)
4)All art is unframed and priced at $100 or less (50% of proceeds from the sale will go to Project Onward)
5) Maximum of 3 pieces of art per artist
6) Art must be dropped off AND picked up in person.
7) Pick up is on December 5th between 11AM-5PM.
8) We are not responsible for any art sent in mail and we cannot guarantee it will be accepted into the show.
9)Must be 18 years or older to enter
Gala opening will be on Friday, November 20th from 6-9:30PM at Project Onward! Bring your friends! Bring your family! Bring everyone you can think of and tell them to invite everyone!

Opening this Friday, September 18th at 6:00PM at Project Onward, Forever Yours celebrates tattooing through the artwork of multiple Project Onward artists including Ken Bortman, Ruby Bradford, Bill Douglas, Adam Hines, Fernando Ramirez, Lainey Sears, Noon Slaps, Luke Shemroske, and Alita Van Hee. Through drawings, paintings, and mixed-media experiments, they explore some of the imagery and techniques of this timeless art form. The artists have also lent their distinctive styles to original, specially-designed flash sheets.
The exhibit opens Friday, September 18th from 6PM-10PM and is available to view through Saturday November 7th.

Stop by our booth to meet Project Onward artists and explore their work in this beautiful neighborhood setting.
