It's Day 2 of Community Change Action's national , where our Power Parents and Providers are in space with 1300+ to build the movement for !

We have a packed schedule of workshops on topics ranging from understanding the roots of the child care crisis, to fixing our broken tax systems, to building our vision for a universal child care bill. Our leaders are learning from - and teaching! - other organizers about the nature of power and persuasion, building the skills needed to make our vision a reality.

We can and WILL win the child care our families and communities need!

Our team of Power Parents and Providers is boldly repping WCRJ at the national Community Change this weekend!!

We're joining child care advocates from across the country, all in one room, ready to build the plan for achieving universal child care.

🗓️ Mark your calendars! On August 28th, the Workers Center for Racial Justice is joining the nationwide movement of Give 8/28—a powerful day of Black giving during Black Philanthropy Month.

August 28th isn’t just a date; it’s an echo of the 1963 March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom. We are channeling that legacy into the fight for Black liberation today. Our goal is to raise $2,500 to directly fuel our organizing, policy advocacy, and civic training.

Your contributions made our recent wins like $1.2B Digital Advertising Tax in Illinois, establishing a permanent Guaranteed Income program in Cook County, and passing Clean Slate legislation possible. Your continued support will enable us to continue working hard to turn our current campaigns, like pushing for a $27 minimum wage and a childcare system that works for all families, into victories.

The U4GI Cookout is a community celebration hosted by the Workers Center for Racial Justice (WCRJ) and Community Change that brings together residents from across Cook County to celebrate the progress of guaranteed income and build momentum for the work ahead.

Here’s what you need to know before you head out:
