Kevin's journey reflects how education, determination, and an entrepreneurial spirit can create opportunities to serve others.

After completing her ordinary level secondary education at Gulu High School, Kevin pursued a Certificate in Nursing at St. Mary's Hospital Lacor Health Training Institute, successfully launching her career in healthcare.

Following graduation, Kevin worked as a nurse in a private clinic in Gulu before pursuing her dream of owning her own business. Today, she manages her own drug shop in Amuru District, where she continues to provide essential healthcare services to her community.

Geoffrey's journey reflects how dedication, perseverance, and educational opportunity can lead to a meaningful career in healthcare.

After completing his ordinary level secondary education at Sir Samuel Baker Secondary School, Geoffrey continued his advanced level studies at St. Joseph's College Layibi. He later pursued Clinical Medicine at the Gulu Institute of Health Sciences, graduating in 2019.

After completing his studies, Geoffrey gained valuable experience as a Clinical Officer in South Sudan. Today, he operates his own medical shop in Awach, Gulu District, where he continues to support the healthcare needs of his community.

After completing her ordinary level secondary education at Gulu High School, Rovister earned a Certificate in Midwifery from St. Mary's Hospital Lacor Health Training Institute in 2019. She then began her career in government service, providing maternal healthcare in Northern Uganda.

๐ŸŒŸ ChildrenUP Alumni Spotlight: Patrick

Patrick's journey is a powerful reminder of what can happen when someone believes in a student's potential and provides the opportunity to grow.

In 2010, ChildrenUP made the decision to support one additional student after our staff believed in Patrick's potential. That opportunity became the beginning of a remarkable educational journey.

Patrick completed four years of secondary education at Gulu High School before continuing his advanced-level studies at St. Joseph's College Layibi. He later enrolled in a Computer Science program at Gulu University, where he was awarded a government scholarship to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. He also completed an internship with the Uganda Revenue Authority, gaining valuable professional experience.

Today, Patrick works as an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) consultant while also operating his own business. He remains an active member of the ChildrenUP family and continues to participate in our annual meetings.

His journey is a testament to what can be achieved when hard work, perseverance, and educational opportunity come together. We are incredibly proud of Patrick's accomplishments and grateful to celebrate him as part of our ChildrenUP Alumni Spotlight Series.

Lillian's journey reflects how a commitment to lifelong learning can open doors to new opportunities and leadership.

After completing her secondary education at Gulu High School, Lillian earned a Certificate in Nursing from St. Mary's Hospital Lacor Institute. She then began her nursing career, serving her community for four years.

Determined to continue advancing her education, Lillian pursued a Diploma in Nursing in 2022. With continued support from ChildrenUP, she successfully completed her diploma in 2023.

Today, Lillian serves as a Deputy in Charge at a healthcare facility in Northern Uganda, where she continues to make a meaningful impact through her leadership and dedication to patient care.

๐ŸŒŸ ChildrenUP Alumni Spotlight: Jimmy

Jimmy's journey demonstrates how determination, academic excellence, and educational opportunity can open doors around the world.

After joining ChildrenUP in 2010, Jimmy attended St. Joseph's College Layibi before completing his Advanced Level studies at Our Lady of Africa Secondary School. He later earned a National Diploma in Water Engineering from Uganda Technical Collegeโ€“Lira, graduating at the top of his class.

In 2020, Jimmy received a scholarship to study at the Illinois Institute of Technology. Although the COVID-19 pandemic delayed his travel to the United States, he began his studies online from Uganda before continuing on campus when restrictions were lifted. He went on to earn both a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a Master's degree in Transportation and Highway Engineering.

Today, Jimmy works as a Transportation Engineer in the United States, applying his knowledge and skills to projects that help shape communities.

His journey is a testament to what can be achieved when hard work, perseverance, and educational opportunity come together. We are incredibly proud of Jimmy's accomplishments and grateful to celebrate him as part of our ChildrenUP Alumni Spotlight Series.

After beginning his secondary education at St. Joseph's College Layibi, Kinyera continued his studies at St. John Paul II School, where he earned his Advanced Level certificate and served as Head Prefect. He later pursued a Certificate in Nursing at St. Mary's Lacor Health Training Institute, graduating in 2022.

Today, Kinyera works as a nurse in Amuru District, Northern Uganda, providing essential healthcare services and making a positive difference in the lives of those he serves.
