Did you know you can start a bedtime routine at birth to help set healthy sleep habits! Here are some examples of what you can do for your baby!
You can keep it very short - like a 5 minute bath with some warm water for sensory experience, or a short massage, and so on. Don't be afraid to skip whatever doesn't work for you.
💤 These are just some ideas of what you can include regularly at bedtime.
✨ Why have a bedtime routine for a newborn? It's a great way to start helping babies know the difference from day vs night and it will help promote longer stretches of sleep over time.
🤱 Of course your baby will still wake to eat, but this will teach your baby that there is something different about "bedtime".
✨ Now there will be times your baby might fall asleep during the feed, and that's ok! Just try to practice putting your baby down into their crib/bassinet while awake.
A consistent bedtime routine every night has been associated with better sleep!
⏰ And lastly you want bedtime routine to start about 30-45 minutes before you want your baby in bed.
📩 SAVE and SHARE this with a tired parent!

Becoming a mom for the first time, is amazing but can be very overwhelming. One of the frustrating things new moms deal with are things like "Unsolicited Advice" stuff.
During those times, try to remember people either don't know or have not experienced what you are going through, or forget what it's like if it's been a long time.
So just know that you're doing great. 🤗
If you are a friend, family member, or in-law to someone with a new baby, try to keep some of these things in mind with the new mom - INSTEAD try these things
✨ Support - offer her support, listening, helping, caring
✨ Compliment her on what a great job she is doing, because chances are she feels like she isn't.
✨ Reach out to ask how she's feeling/doing. (She is important too)
What are some tips you'd add for others of a mom with a new baby? Share in the comments ... 👇

✨ Answer → For the first year of life, ALWAYS place baby on the back for sleep. If your baby has the ability to roll from stomach to back and vice versa, is NOT swaddled AND is in bare crib, it's safe to let baby sleep in this position.
