A taxi driver changes a tire on a Manhattan street in New York City, 1947. The photo was taken by 19-year-old Stanley Kubrick. The car in the picture is a DeSoto 'Skyview' taxi, introduced around 1941. It could hold up to seven passengers and was very popular in New York and other cities. This model had a long-wheelbase DeSoto sedan, required by NYC regulations, and featured a transparent plexiglass roof panel so tourists could admire the tall buildings.

June 6, 1963 in London, England: 6-year-old Patrick Power was taking boxing lessons to learn how to defend himself against bullies when Muhammad Ali showed up at the same gym to train for his upcoming fight against Henry Cooper.

Ali gave Patrick some boxing tips (pictured here), then let the boy "win" a fight against him 😄
