We are living through a crisis of disconnection. For young people, loneliness, anxiety, and uncertainty can shape how they see themselves and what they believe is possible.

For 15 years, The Simple Good has used art, mindfulness, and social emotional learning to create something powerful in response: connection, belonging, creativity, empathy, and the space for young people to imagine a different future.

Because when a young person feels seen, heard, and connected, they are not only better equipped to navigate the world around them. They are empowered to help shape it.

City of Big Dreams is our community coming together to protect and expand that possibility. It is a celebration of 15 years of impact and an investment in the next generation of artists, leaders, dreamers, and changemakers across Chicago.

On October 1st, creativity will unfold in real time as seven incredible artists transform the room through live artwork, each bringing their own voice, perspective and imagination to the night.

Featuring: Brenda Dickerson, Dion Osei Crowder, Taylor Sheree, Reggie McFly, Ebony Sade, John Caleb Pendleton and Barrett Keithley.

City of Big Dreams is more than one night. It’s an investment in what becomes possible when creativity, community and opportunity come together.

At a moment when young people need more support, the organizations serving them are facing more pressure to do more with less. As public funding becomes more constrained and systems become more complex, community support can determine whether critical programs remain accessible to young people.

The question is not only whether young people need this work. The question is whether we will invest in the community organizations capable of delivering it.
