Happy Pride!
This month and beyond, we’re celebrating the people, organizations, and advocates who continue to champion inclusion, acceptance, and opportunity.
At D4D, we’re proud to work alongside partners making a meaningful impact across communities of all kinds.
Here’s to leading with empathy, showing up authentically, and making June a little more joyful, bright, and bold.

Help us bring Poupard Place to life.
Designs for Dignity is looking for volunteers to support our Furniture Install Day at Poupard Place in Northbrook on Friday, June 12 from 11 AM–4 PM.

For our partners at Studio41 Home Design Showroom, the mission of Designs 4 Dignity is personal. This month, Studio 41 Home Design Showroom President, EJ Silver, shares WHY this collaboration is so vital to his team:
"D4D reminds us why we do what we do. It gives us the opportunity to take what we do best and turn it into something that genuinely impacts people’s lives. It’s a constant reminder that design isn’t just about beautiful spaces, but about dignity, hope, and making a real difference."

The beat of the Bandwith Chicago’s youth drumline is still echoing in our ears!
On May 13th at Spirit of Design, BandWith’s Executive Director, Annie Palomino, reminded us all why this work matters: music isn't just sound—it’s a pathway to connection, wellness, and pure joy.
We are so proud that the spaces D4D designed for BandWith serve as a stage for this incredible mission. Want to feel the energy yourself? Check out their community calendar and see the power of music (and intentional design) in action. https://www.bandwithchicago.net/upcoming-events
Hard to believe ’s Spirit of Design was just last week! We had an amazing evening filled with inspiration, delectable food & drinks, a fabulous live auction and silent auction and program showcasing our mission in action! Thank you to for capturing the evening!

Design lives in the experience, with furniture at the center of it all. For our projects, we always prefer connecting with pieces firsthand before bringing them to life.
We recently hosted Housing Opportunity Development Corporation at the 22,000 SF Designs for Dignity’s warehouse to review furnishing contenders for their supportive housing development in Northbrook, Illinois, a project serving low-income households and people with disabilities, where comfort, support, and dignity guide every decision. Swipe through for a look at what their team explored and selected with our Project Manager Catherine R. Richards.

This week’s Spirit of Design Gala was truly one for the books, surrounded by the community that has carried this mission forward all along. More than 300 guests filled Theater on the Lake - bringing incredible energy to the room and helping us raise over $216,000 to continue transforming spaces that bring dignity and healing to lives.
A heartfelt thank you to all attendees, sponsors, and donors whose generosity and support made this impact possible—we couldn’t have done it without you.
Special shoutout to:
Bandwith Chicago's Annie Palomino for her inspiring message on what happens when people show up and show out
D4D CEO Jen Sobecki and Board President Mary Pat Wallace for being the backbone of our mission and for their empowering words
Entertaining Company for the unforgettable bites and stunning dessert towers
Theater on the Lake - for the breathtaking lakeside backdrop
Chris Hensley of Bid Raise Bid for bringing his energy to encourage people to donate!
We’re carrying this momentum and ambition into the year ahead. Cheers to 26 years of impact and beyond! Entire photo gallery from Francis Son Photography here: https://francissonphotography.smugmug.com/Non-Profits/Designs-4-Dignity/D4D-2026-Events/Spirit-of-Design-05-13-2026/n-MFN33V
