🏆 OWLS Cup 2026 🏆

A great way to close out the season.

Last Saturday, our players, coaches, families, and volunteers came together at Douglass Park for the first-ever OWLS Cup. We celebrated our award winners for Most Improved, Hardest Working, and OWLS Character—recognizing the growth, effort, and leadership displayed throughout the year.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this season possible. Here’s to a great summer and an even stronger year ahead!

From her early days in OWLS as a 3rd grader at to now preparing for her next chapter at Clark Atlanta University, we are proud to celebrate Scholar, Kaziah Burks.

A graduating senior from De La Salle Institute, Kaziah’s journey reflects years of consistency, personal growth, and extreme focus — and what becomes possible when young people are supported over time through community, academics, and opportunity.

Highlights from Kaziah’s journey:
• Daniel Murphy Scholar
• National Honor Society
• Varsity Track & Cross Country
• Clark Atlanta University Class of 2030

Congratulations, Kaziah. The whole OWLS community is proud of you! 🦉

☀️

Saturdays are a great reminder that growth happens in the small things—showing up, competing, learning a new skill, building confidence, and taking the step from school-day programming into more competitive spaces.

A lot of these kids are finding their rhythm through the game—moving, competing, laughing, and learning alongside teammates, coaches, and mentors.

Most importantly, it’s fun. Fun in the sun, real relationships, and a community that keeps showing up for each other.

Two more weeks left in the spring season. Looking forward to finishing strong!

Shoutout to the St Ignatius College Prep Varsity Lacrosse team, coaches, and the Wolfpack families for an incredible OWLS Play Day Saturday at Douglass Park in North Lawndale.

From team-building activities and lacrosse drills to games, food, music, and a lot of laughs—this was what the OWLS community looks like.

Grateful for partners who show up, lead with purpose, and help create unforgettable experiences for our kids.

Congratulations to our Chief Program Officer, Bryce Woodson, on celebrating five years of leadership and impact with OWLS Lacrosse.

Bryce has been a selfless, steady, and deeply committed leader for our team and community—helping build stronger programs, stronger relationships, and stronger pathways for so many student-athletes and families.

He never asks for the spotlight—but the work deserves it.

Coach Bryce, Thank you for five years of consistency, heart, and belief in our students. We’re better because of you!🦉

From the West Side to what’s next—we’re proud to share that Truth Hughes (OWLS Academy Scholars ’26) will be attending the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Gies College of Business this fall.

Truth will graduate with honors from St. Ignatius College Prep and has earned the illustrious Evans Scholarship to support his college journey.

We’ve known Truth since his days at St. Malachy, and one thing has always been true—he shows up. Over the years, he’s taken full advantage of what’s in front of him. He’s stayed consistent, tried new things, and even started his own business back in 7th grade. Along the way, he earned the Daniel Murphy Scholarship, which helped open the door to Ignatius.

It’s also a reflection of the people around him—especially his family, who have been with him every step of the way.

Truth—we’re proud of you. And grateful to be part of your story!
