The new bees have arrived and they’re excited to get to work!!! We’re moving them into their freshest prepped homes this weekend. We’re excited for them explore and pollinate the spring wildflowers budding all around the farm. We can’t wait to get that liquid gold into the hands of our fabulous customers 🌸🐝🍯

We’ve been a little quiet over here—but for good reason 🌱
Behind the scenes, big things are growing… and it all starts with these high tunnels going up this spring. More season, more sunshine, more space to grow the fruits and veggies you love (and a few new surprises too 🍓🥕).
We can’t wait to share what’s ahead—this is just the beginning.

We got a surprise “fairy egg” in the nesting box today. They are eggs that are usually formed without a yolk. Perfectly safe to eat! They are either a glitch in production or one of our older layers who is beginning to enter “henopause”.
The ladies are ramping up their production now that spring is here. Reach out if you are looking to buy farm fresh eggs!
To round out my “Eat Near, Eat Here” adventures, I went to in North Mayfair for a late dinner of Filipino pork and chicken empanadas. The empanada fillings are so good, slightly sweet, surrounded with a soft breadlike crust. It’s a perfect quick meal. Also brought some Ensaymada home for the family. They’re a fluffy pastry and filled with delicious flavors like Nutella and cream cheese. The croissants are for breakfast tomorrow with my morning coffee 😋

We went to for the first time and had a delicious Oaxacan meal! I was so excited they had Guisado de Conejo as it is not often you find rabbit on a menu. It was really good. l’m looking forward to returning to try their brunch menu.
Exploring restaurants for the Eat Near Eat Here challenge has left us feeling incredibly grateful to live in a city where eating local means experiencing a fabulous level of care, culinary heritage, and creativity on a plate. Supporting neighborhood restaurants isn’t just about food, it’s about celebrating the farmers, the ranchers, the chefs, their cultures and experiences that make our city so special.

Went to with my Logan Square book club group and had a wonderful meal. My favorite thing about their menu is they have an option to order just sides called “Make it a Triple”. I ordered my favorite vegetables: arugula salad, beets, and roasted carrots. No crumbs left!

challenge!
Our bees did the hard work and we turned their golden wax into these sweet little beehive candles. Sustainably made, naturally beautiful, heavenly scented! Look out for these to be available in the coming year 🐝🕯️

We love visiting farms wherever we travel, and Rusty Stars Alpacas in Winterset, Iowa was a true highlight 🦙✨
Alpacas are gentle, social animals who live in herds. Their fiber is incredibly soft, naturally warm, and one of the most sustainable fibers in the world — hypoallergenic and long-lasting, too.
