Theatre Artist, Filmmaker, Actor, and Director Mary Tilden is raising funds for BUGGY: A Short Film. BUGGY tells the story of an ambitious theater major who finds out she’s pregnant the night before her final college performance. Buggy must find a ride to her abortion, endure the inane positivity of her understudy, and evade protestors...all before call time. Motivated by a recent six-week abortion ban in their home state, Hart Lang and Mary Tilden wrote BUGGY as a way to tell a character-focused story about a young artist’s pursuit of her dreams and the obstacles that arise as she navigates restrictive cultural forces and healthcare policies.

Funds collected through this 3AP campaign will support equitable pay for the film’s team and material production needs such as equipment and location costs.

TODAY is the last day to support the Community Award! The growing circle of support around this year’s Community Award campaign continues to grow!

Every gift continues to make a difference. While we’ve reached our goal, the campaign remains open until midnight tonight.

Any additional gifts will help extend the impact of this collective effort by supporting our responsive grant programs aimed to help artists navigate moments of crisis (3ER) or seize opportunities that can advance their careers (3-Opp).

Chicago is defined by the artists who live and work here. They are the heartbeat of our neighborhoods, shaping ideas into physical existence. Thanks to the generosity of the Community Award supporters, we will once again be able to honor and invest in an artist whose work strengthens our communities and enriches our city.

And thanks to the generous support of MSU Federal Credit Union, gifts to this year’s campaign were matched dollar-for-dollar up to $15,000, doubling the impact of contributions made along the way!

Contact Zones Collective, composed of artists Nu A.M., Rozalinda Borcilǎ, and Lyn Rye, is seeking support for Contact Zones: Wake for Water, Earth, Metal. Contact Zones is a project of artistic and political engagement with sites that are being demolished for redevelopment. The Collective considers how the loss of beloved places can be met with creative practices of memory-making, collective grieving, and uplifting through the creation of a sound archive and original music.

Funds collected through this 3AP campaign will support the continued sound archiving, an album of original music with a website and booklet, and community events with sound-making, memory work, and skill shares from interconnected struggles against environmental racism and so-called development.

Chicago is defined by the artists who live and work here. They are the heartbeat of our neighborhoods, shaping ideas into physical existence. Each spring we invite you to join us in honoring one extraordinary artist with a $30,000 unrestricted 3Arts Award. Your contributions—from $5 and up—make this possible. Every gift counts.

Every year, ten local artists receive $30,000 no-strings-attached 3Arts Awards to support their artistic practices and careers.
