This is why I love what I do.🥰
Just days ago, Paris and his daughter were living in the Salvation Army shelter. Today, they have a home, clothes, toys, food, and most importantly, a community standing behind them. It all began with a kind heart from Miranda McMahon with The Lice Angels, and it grew because of neighbors like you who care.
So grateful to witness the moment their lives changed. Since meeting the Dupree family last week, I’ve spent time getting to know them and I’m truly invested in seeing them win. All it takes is one person in the community to make a difference and this is a testament of that. Big thank you to Mattress Firm South Texas for collaborating with KRIS 6 News and myself to donate a brand new bed for Paris.💛 These are the stories that remind us how powerful our community can be. I am deeply inspired by you all.
McKenzie has crowned Miranda and I as her newest best friends. What an honor. Paris’ birthday is December 31. Best believe, we will be celebrating. There’s a lot to be thankful for.

For the first time ever, Corpus Christi is saddling up for its own trail ride this weekend! I spoke with organizers who say it’s a chance for the entire community to have fun, celebrate cowboy heritage, and highlight the deep roots of Black and Brown cowboys within Texas history. The 1st Annual Corpus Christi Texas Trail Ride will take place August 1 & 2 at the South Texas Race Ranch. More details on KRIS 6 News.
Corpus Christi City Auditor George Holland is under fire after an external investigation included serious allegations of a toxic work environment and professional ethics violations. Holland vehemently denies those claims. City leaders reviewed the investigation and chose not to take action. Check out the story as I dig deeper into the controversy.

Extending my heartfelt condolences to the families who lost their loved ones during the horrific plane crash over the Potomac River. Shortly after 9 p.m. on Wednesday, officials confirmed a midair collision between an American Airlines jet plane and a US Army Black Hawk helicopter. As of 10:30 a.m. Thursday morning, authorities say at least 28 bodies have been found.
