It is a tremendous honor to announce “Between Sky and Sea” as an official selection to ! This 30-minute film (by the martyred of .bypalestine) artfully documents Deir Al-Balah and Gaza City in 2024. It consists mostly of slow, wordless, visually stunning shots of life and displacement along the Mediterranean Sea. It is a beautiful, transfixing piece and I encourage you to come and see it on the big screen! It will include a moving tribute video from Ismail’s brother, . It will be screened on Sunday, April 12 at 1 PM at the Gene Siskel Film Center as a short film before the afternoon’s feature, “The Miracle of Gaza.” Tickets went on sale today - I shared a link in my bio. I encourage you all to come out for this and to support CPFF and the many great films it will showcase this year!

The Epstein files confirmed what we already knew. He was with Isr*eli intelligence. One of the key functions of his network was to gather kompromat against Western leaders, which could be weaponized in service of Isr*el (though the people they compromised would’ve gone with them anyway).
If the g*n*c*d* and the killing of children for hobby somehow wasn’t horrifying enough, let’s spell it out again: this “conflict” is a war and occupation of supremacist p*d* traffickers waged against children and humanity.
“Stand with Isr*el” and expect to get knocked down.
Free Palestine, free yourself.

Amnesty International released a report on October 7th today, “Targeting Civilians: Murder, Hostage-Taking, and Other Violations by Palestinian Armed Groups in Israel and Gaza.” At first glance it says about what you’d expect it to say. I don’t really have a bone to pick with it.
But - it’s also an incomplete report for this reason: Israel refused to participate in it. This is how it has always been with October 7th. Soon after the attacks, Hamas officials said it welcomed an independent investigation into the attacks. Israeli officials rejected one, then used their official narrative of October 7th as a pretext for endless violence.
The problem with the official narrative is mostly rhetorical at this point. The worst has already happened and there’s no reversing it. Even if the story was proven to be ridden with lies and half-truths (and it was), it wouldn’t have stopped the Israel-US onslaught, who would have done what they wanted to do irrespective of the truth.
Nonetheless, we deserve to know: what is Israel hiding? Note that this Amnesty investigation was into crimes by Palestinian armed groups. Makes it curious that Israel would not participate in it at all. The conclusion I think you have to draw is that the information Israel has either complicates, disproves, or otherwise alters the balance of incrimination presented in the official October 7th narrative. My speculation is Israel would have come out of it looking very, very bad.
Language from the report amplified in 2nd and 3rd slides.
