Always a pleasure to take part in the Canton Park District’s Fulton County Town and Country Art Show. Thank you to the Canton Park District for hosting it each year and giving local artists a place to share their work.
This year was a great one. Silent Fire and Summit Light took 1st and 2nd in the popular vote, and Silent Fire earned 2nd place in the judged competition. I am incredibly grateful to everyone who stopped by, took the time to look, and cast a vote.
One of the things I appreciate most about shows like this is the opportunity to have my work critiqued and hear honest feedback. That is how I keep learning and growing as an artist.
Which photo is your favorite?.

Two ways to see the same winter evening at the Chicago Harbor Lighthouse. One in color, where the sky and the lake carry the scene. One in black and white, where the light, texture, and shape take over.
So I am curious. Which one speaks to you more?
Color or black and white?

I have live in Illinois for most of my life and yet this is the first time I have seen “The Bean” or Cloud Gate. I couldn’t go to Chicago and not take some obligatory pictures.

I was looking for a place to sit and warm up. Momentum Coffee did not have any open seats, but I was able to take this photo while the barista waited for the next customer.

A photograph tells a story in layers of shadow and light. Chicago builds those layers in steel and brick. I was just walking and looking up when this story demanded to be told.

The relentless flow of life in Chicago. Under the tracks it is loud. The clamor of horns, engines, and the train, all part of the heartbeat of the city.

Walking through Millennium Park really proves that people here in the Midwest are just built different. Ice skating in single digit temperatures like it’s nothing.

Had the chance to spend some time in Chicago recently. It was cold but that doesn’t slow down people here in the Midwest.

Christmas lights are everywhere this time of year, but a night like this is hard to beat. Nature always has the final say.

Some winter nights feel less like Illinois and more like Narnia.
