We had the honor of hearing from Assistant Principal Takyra Garner, Ms. Bradley, and Principal Payton as they reflected on the incredible growth of their students, the power of parent engagement, and the impact of partnership through Sustainable Community Schools (SCS).
Together, families, educators, and community partners are helping students thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

Last summer, our CPAAC parents had the opportunity to visit the Obama Foundation and see the Obama Presidential Center while it was still under construction.
Through our Civic Engagement Pillar, parents gain experiences that build leadership, advocacy, and a deeper understanding of how communities create change.
Now, we can't wait to see it come to life! 💙

💜 June is PTSD Awareness Month.
Trauma doesn't always look the way people expect. It can impact how we think, feel, learn, communicate, and connect with others.
At District Outreach Initiatives, we believe healing begins with awareness, support, and community. Through our Mental Health & Trauma programming, we equip parents, caregivers, educators, and communities with tools to recognize trauma, support healing, and create safe spaces for children and families.
Remember:
✔️ Healing is not a straight line.
✔️ Asking for help is a sign of strength.
✔️ No one should have to heal alone.

Last summer, Student Karma partnered with ACROSS to give students a hands-on experience exploring health, wellness, research, caregiving, and community advocacy. Students didn't just learn—they helped create real solutions and resources that could support stroke survivors and families in our communities.
As we prepare for another impactful summer, we're excited to continue empowering young leaders to use their creativity, critical thinking, and voices to create change.
