New Arrivals Alert🚨

We got this batch of 45s from Chicago veteran, Dj V. There’s a mixed bag of rarer soul/ funk labels and a lot of newer dance music. Anybody out there remember the ‘area dj’ 45 series in Chicago? It was a short-lived series of releases produced by smartbar and The Onion in the mid 00’s- hyper local and independent! Perfect for anybody piecing Chicago musical history together. Come in this weekend and explore!

Today we are open from 12 til 7pm. Saturday and Sunday we open at 12 and close at 6pm. Hope to see you this weekend!

We buy collections of all types! DM or call for info now!

October is Approaching!

Tap into the October calendar for Dig+Disconnect. Whether it’s Open Decks, a Lux Listening session, or an evening with Noshaluv -we hope to see you this month!

Get familiar with our October selectors!

This month’s theme: Filipino American History. And, there’s a symbolic diasporic overlap between Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15- Oct 15) and Filipino American History. Each selector was invited to meditate on this overlap and on the ways Filipino American History is informed by Hip Hop, soul, freestyle, funk, soul and dance music. We look forward to the way each selector tackles this theme. We also have our DJ graduation this month which is always a great time.

Selector Saturdays are every Saturday from 3-5pm! See you there!

Intro to DJing Workshop Returns! 🏃🏽‍♂️💨

Curious about DJing but not sure where to start? This beginner-level workshop is an entry point into the fundamentals of DJing and our larger Miyagi Education curriculum.

Participants will get hands-on time with vinyl and digital DJ equipment while learning the basics of cueing, mixing, listening with intention, and understanding how DJs move through sound.

No prior experience is required. This session is designed for anyone interested in taking a first step into the craft in a welcoming, low-pressure setting.
Miyagi Education is the learning arm of Miyagi Records. We build workshops, labs, and learning spaces rooted in DJ culture, analog practice, Black and brown musical lineages, and community care.

Important note: There are 15 RSVP slots available because not everyone who RSVPs is able to attend. However, the maximum workshop capacity is 8 participants. Entry will be first come, first served. Early arrival is strongly suggested.
