It’s been one week since the American Exceptionalism release shows, and we are still dreaming about it! Thank you to everyone who showed up, bought merch, listened to the record.

To the bands we chose for the shows: We couldn’t think of a more perfect lineup. There were many laughs amongst all the bands, but two of our favorite things said were, “It wouldn’t be a Complacent show without…” and “We started this band because of them.” Thank you for sharing the stage with us and being the best.

Our second full length record, American Exceptionalism, is now available on all major music streaming platforms.

We started writing this record in the second half of 2024 with the intention of releasing it the next year. Demos were underway, but after the results of the presidential election, it became clear we needed to redo everything. So we spent more time writing and rewriting, in a couple of cases all the way up until the very end, until these songs became what they are today. We wanted to do this right and not hold back.

American Exceptionalism is the belief that the US is inherently different and superior to other nations because of our “unique history.” This record criticizes that very ideology.
