The IRS announced that it is extending the deadline for filing 2020 tax returns to May 17, 2021. The filing deadline for Illinois individual income tax returns (Form IL-1040) has also been extended to May 17, 2021.

It is important to note, however, that if you are required to make quarterly estimated payments of Federal or state income taxes, the date for paying estimated taxes has NOT been extended.
