HANA Action and Asian American Midwest Progressives for People Powered Campaigns are hosting a panel discussion with democratic candidate for State Rep (HD-40) Miguel Alvelo Rivera and grassroots leaders from 33 Ward Working Families. We will learn about how 33WF and Miguel ran their energetic campaign and how they approach electoral organizing through the lens of community organizing.

New Jersey Congressional District 11, where Analilia won her race, is home to roughly 60,000 Asian American voters. NAKASEC Action Fund New Jersey outreached to Asian American voters with in-language information and resources.

As we’ve said for years, Asian American voters will play increasingly large roles in determining the future of this country - and we are honored to play a role in making sure our community is seen, valued, and listened to.

This past Saturday, volunteers from across Chicago joined us for our inaugural day of action. 🎉

We knocked on doors across Illinois House District 40 to talk with residents about Miguel Alvelo-Rivera, a community organizer running to be the district’s next Representative. Miguel is committed to a safer, more affordable Chicago - whether it’s protecting and increasing tenant rights, increasing the minimum wage, or investing in community-based violence prevention. ✊🏽

This event marked the launch of HANA Action, the Illinois chapter of NAKASEC Action Fund. ✨ Together, we will fight for everyone who calls Illinois home. 🫂

New Jersey Congressional District 11, where Analilia won her race, is home to roughly 60,000 Asian American voters. To support Analilia Mejia in winning the primary, NAKASEC Action Fund New Jersey independently outreached to over 15,000 Korean and Asian American voters through phonebanking, canvassing, mailers, and ads in the Korean ethnic media.

As we’ve said for years, Asian American voters will play increasingly large roles in determining the future of this country - and the narrow margin of votes underscores that truth. 🫶🏼

Analilia is a champion for Asian Americans, immigrants, workers, families, and every day New Jerseyans who want a life they can afford to live with their rights protected and humanity upheld. ✊🏼

As we kick off our new chapter, NAKASEC Action Fund NJ and Asian Americans for Change Fund are proud to endorse Analilia Mejia for Congressional District 11.

Analilia has a long track-record of fighting for working class people and immigrant rights. She led efforts to raise the minimum hourly wage in New Jersey to $15 and secure paid sick leave. ✊

Now running for Congress, Analilia is committed to fighting for every day, working people. Analilia knows that the cost of living is too high - and she’s ready to take on corporations and corrupt officials. We need representatives like Analilia who will fight for us - for better jobs, education, affordable healthcare and housing, and keeping families together.
