The Yards Youth Initiative

The Back of the Yards Middle School “Shorty” League has finished. Six neighborhood schools competed. Congrats to Lara for taking home the trophy and thanks to all who made this league possible!

When the local park canceled the winter basketball league for 7th and 8th graders, YYI stepped up to collaborate with San Miguel School to roll out a season for the kids. Week 2 of the Friday “Shorty” League. A great way to spend a Friday✌️✌️🏀🏀

YYI has just graduated 14 "Young Chefs" through our culinary arts program. Huge SHOUT-OUT to all the "Young Chefs" and THANK-YOU to Raudel Ruiz and Frank De La Pena for leading another awesome class!

Congrats to Lara for taking the championship yesterday! A huge shout-out to our Youth Leaders who made this season possible. It’s always a TEAM effort!

Come see the defending champs try to keep the crown… and trophy. Men’s games start at 11am tomorrow. Great food and music running all day!
