Hey, Chicago.
Here’s your first look at the Obama Presidential Center ahead of its grand opening on June 19.
The new 19.3-acre campus in Jackson Park is free to explore and features a new library, gardens, community spaces, Home Court, a playground, and the Sky Room, which offers incredible views of Lake Michigan and is free to visit.
Visitors can also stop by the on-site restaurant Tafari’s Kitchen, which features the Obama family’s famous chili recipe!
The only paid portion of the campus is the museum, where guests can explore interactive exhibits, view President Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize, see iconic dresses worn by First Lady Michelle Obama, step inside a replica of the Oval Office, and learn more about the Obama family’s journey and legacy.
Hey, Chicago.
You’re invited to a Tropical BBQ & Pig Roast at The Duck Inn.
Every last Thursday of the month, The Duck Inn is slow-roasting a whole suckling pig and serving it up alongside Polynesian-inspired delights.
Guests can enjoy Polynesian-inspired dishes, live entertainment, and plenty of island vibes throughout the evening.
The series kicks off on June 25 and returns July 30, August 27, and September 24 for a special Oktoberfest-inspired finale!
And while you’re there, make sure to order the SpaMai Tai. Partner Brandon Phillips’ take on the classic Mai Tai is made with overproof rum and Spam-infregnated Coruba Dark Rum, served in the iconic can. It’s one of the most unique cocktails in Chicago!

CHICAGO BREAKING NEWS:
Portillo’s is officially coming soon to the Magnificent Mile!
As a reminder, I first reported back in December that Portillo’s was headed to the Magnificent Mile. Now, the restaurant chain has officially confirmed those plans by installing “Coming Soon” signage at 300 N. Michigan Ave., the very location I reported months ago.

New movable chairs have officially arrived at Buckingham Fountain as part of a pilot program from the Chicago Park District. Inspired by the Luxembourg Gardens in Paris, visitors can move the chairs around to create their perfect view of the fountain, Grant Park, Lake Michigan, or the Chicago skyline.
The chairs will be available daily from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. through October, except during major events in Grant Park.

Good morning, Chicago.
About an hour ago, I boarded the Orange Line at Roosevelt Station on my way to Midway.
As soon as I stepped into the front car, I noticed a strong smell of smoke. It quickly became clear that the tracks beneath the train were on fire.
The train conductor immediately evacuated passengers, and the Chicago Fire Department responded within minutes.
A big thank you to the train conductor and the Chicago Fire Department for their swift actions and commitment to passenger safety.
