AI-powered board training is available on CTSNet. The Oral Board AI Simulator (OBAS), developed through the Ed Curtis Laboratory for Innovation in Medical Education (ECLIME) at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, gives cardiothoracic trainees on-demand access to mock oral board examinations with a realistic AI video examiner. Every response is graded against a structured rubric.

Using headphones and a computer are recommended for the best experience. Completing at least two exam cases is encouraged, as the second case is where users settle into the format and refine their performance. After completing these sessions, please fill out the brief feedback survey to assist in the improvement of the simulator for all users.
