Wednesday Wisdom: Going into this New Year it’s helpful to keep in mind that you don’t have to change your whole lifestyle overnight. As long as you are making progress everyday to improve, that’s all that matters 💪.

As we soon make our way into the New Year it may feel like deja vu when it comes to New Years resolutions. I chose this quote because I can strongly relate to it. The more you make new routines a habit, the easier it is to follow through with them rather than forgetting about them once the novelty wears off.

Here’s 4 things I do that help me succeed.

1️⃣ Write down your daily agenda and goals the night before.

When you start your day with a plan in place it’s much easier to hit the ground running.

2️⃣ Throughout the day check-off things on your agenda you’ve accomplished.

The celebration of these small victories will give you a hit of dopamine, this will make you want to continue.

3️⃣ Surround yourself with good people that will help you achieve your goals.

If you want to go to the gym more, find a gym buddy that will remind you. Want to read more? Read the same book with a friend. Want to get more into gardening? Join the community garden.

4️⃣ Understand that it won’t always be pleasant.

Some mornings when I show up to the gym I’m just not feeling it. The weight doesn’t go up as easy and I kind of wish I was still in bed. But that’s alright. Part of making these routines a habit is understanding that everything you do is to benefit your future self. Even if it isn’t the most fun at the moment, just keep going until it’s second nature. You’ll thank yourself later.
