Today was the last day of Joann in Chicago. It’s been a very unpleasant time for crafters around the country.

But I’ve been tossing an idea around for a while (I actually grabbed a bunch of retail fixtures from Joann today in preparation for this change).

WHAT IF…. Tuft Stuff started carrying a small selection (larger than Michael’s of course, maybe around 60-80 variations) of yarn and other fiber basics from brands such as Red Heart, Bernat, Caron, Lily Sugar & Crème, Patons, maybe more. Plus threads and notions from Coats & Clark.

This way, you would, again, have a place that keep a stock of some favorites and essentials for you to come in to touch, and examine first-hand so you won’t have to always blindly purchase online, hoping the dye lot matches the photograph.

We’d definitely need some more bodies in the shop to keep regular store hours, but that would also be great for folks wanting to take advantage of more rug-making as well!
