A week without you and forever to go 💔 It’s with the heaviest heart I share that Bako has passed. She was strong until the end and although I know her suffering has ended my endless sorrow has begun. My grandma was my best friend, who lived life on own terms. She was strong, fearless, and full of conviction. She loved her family, fought everyday to build something beautiful for us, and rarely thought she was wrong. She raised us, loved us, and defended us. She showed me what a strong woman looks like in a culture that didn’t always accept it, she showed me what sticking to your beliefs looks like when no one else agrees, and she showed me what loyalty, love, and sacrifice look like in real life. I didn’t have a baby, I had a Bako. She was my life and heartbeat for so long. She raised us and as the years went by the roles shifted, she needed me for support, care, and to show her patience. It hurts this much because I loved that much and I knew this day was coming but nothing could have made me ready to say goodbye - 1,000 more years with you Bako wouldn’t be enough for me! Thank you for everything you have done and built for us. I hope you know how much you are loved, respected, and cherished not only by me but everyone who was lucky enough to know you! I love you forever my little nugget! In the last week I have replayed our last conversation, my last trip home, and wished I could have held your hand as you passed over and over again. I’m sorry I wasn’t there with you! Thank you for showing me so many beautiful signs this week and for protecting us on the hardest journey of our lives to lay you to rest. Leave all the cabinet doors open that you want Babi and may you rest in peace, you deserve it more than anyone ❤️ Forever will remember your smile, laugh, and passionate heart

Happy Birthday to my mama! She is the funniest, sassiest, most full of life best friend a girl could ask for ❤️ And man does the lady love a photo op (like mother like daughter I guess!) You deserve more than you can ever imagine. Your strength and love are fierce but the way you make your own happiness in ever little moment will always be somerhing I am in awe of and grateful that you are mine! Your life has never been easy but you find the good daily and because of that I know your day and year will be filled with laughter and joy!
