In life the most powerful form of teaching is leading by example. The art of Non-Violence is no exception. In order to show compassion to others we must first extend it to ourselves.

I've been reflecting on identity in professional life lately. Imposture Syndrome is a common feeling, especially in regards to professional work. How can we feel whole if we think we must hide parts of ourselves?

I've been thinking a lot about environmental hacking, that is, how to set up one's physical space for success. We are all sheltering in place so it seems more crucial than ever to examine our physical surroundings and ask what effect they have on our state of mind, productivity and quality of life.

A few considerations for interior design:

- What objects can I put away? What clutter is around me that isn't serving me?
- What images or objects inspire me to do my best work and how can I bring those into my awareness more?
- What role models would I like to have on display?
- How can I configure the furniture and objects in my home to best support my health and daily movement practices?

Of course all of these are personal and everyone is unique, but here are a few things I do to help me function better at home:

- keep a clear space for daily yoga/tai chi/HIIT workouts
- put things away/clear clutter before I start a work session
- sit/work in a sunnier spot where I can enjoy a nice view and fresh air
- open windows daily to freshen the energy in your house
- create a vision board with goals
- put bowls of baby carrots and cut celery on the kitchen table so there is a healthy snack on hand at all times
- set out vitamins and favorite healthy teas or drinks in the morning so they are easy to access
- create a standing desk situation to avoid excess sitting

Let me know if you have home design tips that help you stay healthy and sane and productive!

You make your habits, then your habits make you!

I'm checking off my everyday chosen activities these days at home and loving the structure and meaning they provide for me in these strange times. Daily Meditation and Tai Chi are great tools for groundedness and finding peace.

Rule of the mind- you create your habits, then your habits create you- so make them awesome and you'll be awesome too!

Two thoughts for today- "Wealth is the ability to fully experience life." - Thoreau

And this one- "What we think about, we bring about."

What are you focusing on today, and would you want more of it tomorrow?
