Parkinson's Disease, a brain disorder that affects movement, Under the Microscope
Consider A Gut Genome Connection

Study Conducted by Menozzi and team: Nature Medicine 2026.

Who they studied:
- 271 people who already had Parkinson’s
- 150 healthy people
- 43 people who had a special gene change called GBA1, raising
the chance of getting Parkinson’s is up to 30 times greater.

The Aim:
To understand why some people get Parkinson’s disease, while others don’t. So they studied the DNA and gut bacteria of different people

What they found
-- In people who already had Parkinson’s, 176 types of bacteria
differed from those in healthy people.

-- In the healthy group, 142 of those 176 bacteria were already
present

Concllusion
The gut might start changing long before someone shows symptoms.

Why this matters
-- The team created a special 16‑bacteria score called
PDMS‑16. This could become an early-warning test.
-- It uses just 16 types of bacteria to guess whether someone
might be starting to move toward Parkinson’s. even if they
feel totally fine.

The study suggests that your gut bacteria may show signs of Parkinson’s years before symptoms appear.

Fifty years ago, kids ate birthday cake… and we didn’t see the same explosion of tumors, obesity, diabetes, and behavioral challenges that we see today.
So what changed?

A lot.

Sugar isn’t the same sugar.
Today’s “excess sugar” often comes from cane sprayed with chemicals like glyphosate, processed into ultra‑refined forms, and added to almost every institutional food. We talk about sugar addiction,, but maybe we should also be talking about the chemical load that rides along with it.

Medicine plays a role too.
Stimulant ADHD medications often cause weight loss at first, but many people experience weight gain later from rebound appetite, metabolism shifts, or interactions with other medications.

The same pattern shows up with many antidepressants, early appetite changes followed by long‑term weight gain for a significant number of people.

And lifestyle has changed dramatically.
Kids used to run, climb, roam, and sleep more. Families cooked at home. Food was less processed. Stress was lower. Screens didn’t dominate childhood.

None of this is about blame.
It’s about seeing the full picture of how our food system, chemical exposures, medications, and daily habits have shifted, and how those shifts show up in our bodies and our communities.

If we want to move from sickness to wellness, we have to look honestly at what has changed… and start rebuilding health from the ground up: our soil, our food, our routines, and our communities.

Naturally Healthy
Start with Eat Clean, Drink Clean, prioritize Fiber

Let us show you how

🌾 This is my secret for increasing fibre at breakfast.

My 6 ingredient bread, that’s flour free and doesn’t require any baking skills is not only delicious, but gets me out of trouble on those busy mid week mornings!

🍞 My original 4-ingredient flax bread went a bit viral, so I wanted to show you just how versatile it can be. Adding salty olives and sweet sun-dried tomatoes transforms it into something really special. I always look forward to breakfast knowing this is in my freezer!

Ingredients: (serves 12)

300g flaxseed (linseed), milled
200g sunflower seeds
50g chia seeds
35g psyllium husk flakes
1 tsp sea salt
50g Kalamatta olives (pitted)
50g Sun dried tomatoes (drained)
400ml water
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

Method:
1.	Gather and prepare your ingredients. Preheat the oven to 200°C/180°C fan. Line a 12x6x23cm (900g/2lb) loaf tin with baking parchment.
2.	In a large bowl, mix together the dry ingredients, then add the olive oil and water and stir to combine; it should form a sticky dough.
3.	Scrape into the prepared loaf tin, making sure to press the dough into the edges of the tin. Use the back of a spoon dipped in water to smooth out the surface.
4.	Bake in the oven for 60 minutes, or until golden and firm to the touch. Remove the loaf from the tin and return to the oven for another 15 minutes.
5.	Place on a wire rack to cool completely before slicing and freezing. Toast before serving.

Recent independent testing by Moms Across America detected glyphosate in a majority of U.S. breakfast cereals, including several certified organic products.

Key findings include:
• Over 90% of tested cereals contained glyphosate
• 6 of 7 organic samples showed detectable levels
• Some brands showed concentrations significantly higher than levels associated with harm in lab studies
• Highest levels were found in cereals from major U.S. manufacturers

These results highlight the importance of ongoing monitoring, clearer standards, and continued evaluation of pesticide use in the food supply.
