Artist’s Roots

Hello friends—It’s been a WHOLE YEAR since I last posted here, apologies for my absence!

I plan to start posting here once a week (or more!) and thought I should begin with this meditation I have been utilizing in my travels. Our mantra for this one:

I am grounded
I am safe
I’m protected in this space

I suggest accompanying this meditation with some light stretching or some deep intentional breathing 🧘

Changed and changing - between grinding at work and reinvesting in myself, it feels like the summer slipped right through my fingers. I started to feel guilty for how little I have produced lately as an artist but now I find myself question the usefulness of that guilt… For now, I will choose to languish in our last couple days of summer before the vernal equinox and reflect before the coming hibernation 🌞🌒

Don’t look to hard, beauty is fleeting…
This little project was a study of the plants around my home and the material in my hands. Small moments always inspire me so it was really a joy to spend the time burning some of these details into these pine coasters. The finishing oil at the end always brings wood burning pieces to life for me 🥰 Making gifts is always a joy and I hope these warm your home with the energy of the plants that inspired them 💗
