Starting January 18, 2026, the U.S. Postal Service will increase prices on several shipping services — including Priority Mail, Priority Mail Express, USPS Ground Advantage, and Parcel Select — as part of its network modernization plan.

Meanwhile, First-Class stamp prices will not increase in January. This keeps everyday mailing costs steady.

The U.S. Postal Service wrapped up FY2025 with encouraging momentum. Revenue grew to $80.5B, transportation costs dropped by $422M, and the overall net loss improved from last year. While controllable loss did rise due to softer-than-expected package revenue, USPS is pushing forward with strong growth in USPS Ground Advantage, major network optimization gains, and a focus on new revenue opportunities and policy updates to drive a stronger, more sustainable future.

The U.S. Postal Service is gearing up for the holiday rush with nearly $20 billion invested in modernizing its facilities over the past four years. This includes adding 614 new package-sorting machines, boosting capacity by 20 million parcels a day, and hiring 14,000 seasonal workers.
