Milk Drunk | Andrew Marlin Artist Month. We got a sneaky bar of two in the B part, playing the melody isn’t too bad but when it’s your time to solo you better watch out 👀

Woodland Star | Artist Month. IT’S TIME BABY. I’ve been preppin’ this one for a while now and it feels so good to introduce Andrew Marlin Artist Month (part 1) to the world. Andrew is one of my favorite mandolin players and tunewriters/songwriters out there today. Something about his writing and producing and tones make me want to listen to his music all day (UGH, SO GOOD). This song is no exception and it makes me feel like I’m taking a nap in a fairy field. For those wondering what mandolin I’m playing in the dead of winter, it’s my wonderful carbon fiber A5 mandolin! I didn’t tune it once 😂

Transcription Tuesday #114 | Waiting On Vassar ( Solo). Ran across this video recently of an all star cast playing this great Dawg tune and just LOVED Stuart’s solo on it. Felt like I was soaring through clouds. I’m up in Anchorage, AL right now and just got done playing the Anchorage Folk Festival. It’s snowing like hell and I’m loving staying inside learning this solo with the snow coming down outside. Sorry for the vibey video, I couldn’t resist.
Fun fact, Alaska is my 49th state! I need one more and I will have completed the whole US.

High school me would be so proud of his future music career. So many beautiful things have happened in the past 10+ years and it’s largely due to the amount of amazing people in my life. After seeing this photo I am feeling a little sappy 🥹 📷:

I’ve been digging through some of your requests for this week’s Transcription Tuesday and you know I love me some Dawg (Dawg playing Blackberry Blossom on Markology).
Sorry no video today folks. I'm currently in the van with the Henhouse Prowlers making our way to the West Coast. Be sure to come out to a show and say "hello" if you're local!
