Meet Emma de Silva, a proud Code Platoon graduate and dedicated software engineer at DRW! In 2022, Emma shared her powerful insights on the importance of diverse teams in tech. She emphasized how diversity drives creative problem-solving and leads to better products. Emma’s commitment to fostering inclusive environments shines through in her work—she led a two-part diversity and inclusion workshop at Code Platoon! Today, Emma works closely with DRW’s Marketing and Communications team, contributing to projects like DRW’s marketing websites and internal applications.

Reflecting on her journey, Emma says, “My time with Code Platoon and DRW has been life-changing. The barriers I once saw in tech seemed insurmountable, especially without a STEM degree. But here I am, an Army Veteran with a B.A. in English, now developing web applications. Since joining DRW as a Software Engineer, Ivan has worked on performance-critical components and has gained even more exposure to the logic behind them, working closely with traders and researchers.
