A speech and voice group, led by Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT) certified clinicians. This group class is designed to provide tailored support for individuals with Parkinson's disease seeking to improve their communication skills.

I’m thrilled to share that CCP clinicians have completed LSVT Certification! 🎉

LSVT is a research-based, evidence-driven approach to treating individuals with Parkinson’s disease and other neurological conditions. This specialized training enables us to provide patients with the tools they need to improve their voice, speech, and communication through high-effort, personalized therapy.

For those unfamiliar, LSVT focuses on:
🔊 Improving vocal loudness
🗣️ Enhancing speech clarity
💪 Regaining self-confidence

With this certification, we can make a deeper impact in the lives of our patients, helping them find their voice and communicate with confidence.

The right and left hemispheres of the brain have different controls. When evaluating left versus right hemisphere damages you will often see changes to the following areas:

Injuries on the left side of the brain can cause:
-Difficulty understanding spoken & written language
-Difficulty expressing spoken & written language
-Changes in speech
-Verbal memory issues
-Impaired logic
-Sequencing difficulties

Injuries on the right side of the brain can cause:
-Impairments in attention and organization
-Left neglect
-Memory issues
-Decreased awareness of deficits
-Loss of “big picture” thinking/reasoning
-Altered creative or music perception
-Changes in speech

It is hard to believe that we began CCP one year ago! A small idea over margaritas turned into a full-time career change that has filled us with so much joy!
