2025 was a wild, beautiful year for Roots and Chords Music —
70 shows · 20 artists and collabs · across the USA, Canada & Europe — powered by culture, community, and a little chaos.
Highlight: FUGU DUGU — Chicago’s Moldovan-rooted folk-punk outsiders mixing poetry, grit, and klezmer-spirit rebellion. This year they lit up the city with explosive collaborations alongside Chicago legends Alfonso S Ponticelli and Jaik Willis “Rasputin”— they opened for The Klezmatics — and they played the Chicago River show, turning the waterfront into a folk-punk street party.
