Capsaicin Cult

Another rainy day today, but I managed to finish my new sunflower strip with mulch! Also got canna lily bulbs from my coworkers planted in the other little strip, and my lilacs are poppin!

This weather sure is bumming me out 😒 anyone else super ready to be in the garden but waiting impatiently for Mother Nature to cooperate? It was 70 just a few days ago… 😢

With all the rain, I’m finding lots of mushrooms!

This weird, Jurassic Park looking beauty is called a Crown Imperial (Fritillaria imperialis). It’s in the lily family and native to West Asia. I wish I bought more than one bulb! I’m excited to start seeing the bulbs I planted last fall starting to come up and bloom!

In an effort to work off some Easter calories (and because I’m trying new things this year!) yesterday I got some planting done outside. I went through my seeds I wanted to try this year and picked out the things that said they were the most frost hardy… and here we go! Can’t wait to try some new varieties.
