In his illustrated book Bunso Meets the Mumu, artist Rev Valdez uses the mumu, a Filipino sobriquet for “ghost,” as a come-on to make children realize it’s really nothing to be scared of. It’s also a way of introducing a broader audience to Filipino mythology and culture. Bunso Meets a Mumu is finally available for pre-sales. This is the first book of many that will explore Filipino American culture and folklore through humor, and the imagination of a child.
I've been working on this idea for almost 2 years now. Exploring my culture's heritage and untapped source of stories from the Philippines 🇵🇭 has been an amazing journey.
This book wouldn't be possible without the support of my friends, family and the wonderful people I've met virtually during the pandemic on Children's Book Meetup. I want to give special thanks to Jesse Byrd .y.r.d for taking an interest in this book series and I'm excited to go further with this series.

Bunso playing DnD, kinda...

DnD is a tabletop game known for role-playing and fantasy adventure. I got introduced to DnD as an adult but I really wished that I was played DnD when I was a kid.

I think DnD is great for friends and family to be creative and tell stories. It helps inspire imaginative world building and gets people excited about socializing with others.

DnD has been one of the main factors in how my friends and family were able to keep in touch during these tough times, allowing us to play, laugh, and talk every other week.
