đ¸Welcome Spring!đ¸
As a trucker, itâs both good and bad news for you. Good because you donât have to fight against snow or subzero temperatures anymore and bad because now rain, landslides, and other hazards will introduce themselves.
Here are some spring driving tips for truckers:âŹď¸
âď¸TACKING RAIN
At the start of spring and early summer, the weather begins to change, and with that comes rain and slippery roads. It shouldnât be too much of an issue driving in the rain because you are fresh off the winter season, and you must have tackled snowy roads during that period. However, you should exercise caution since roads become very slippery during the first few minutes of rain. You should slow down and maintain a safe distance from other trucks and vehicles on the road.
âď¸CONSTRUCTION SEASON
The start of spring signals the beginning of the construction season, especially in the Midwest. If you pass through a construction site, make sure to pay attention to all the road signs. You should slow down and change lanes with more care to avoid any accidents.
âď¸ SUN GLARE
The sun shines bright during the spring and summer seasons. It also means that you have more hours of daylight to tackle. Therefore, keep a pair of sunglasses by your side to protect your eyes from damage â not to mention look cool as well. Furthermore, keep the truckâs windshield clean, especially since bugs will also be aplenty during this time.

đHalloween is coming đ
Here are some Halloween driving tips for truck driversâŹď¸
While most of the Halloween safety tips involve being careful around the behavior of others, there are some driving tips you can follow yourself. Always use your turn signal on this day to indicate your intentions to others. Along with neighborhoods and small streets, make sure to drive slow around driveways and intersections. Donât pass vehicles that have stopped in the road since they may be dropping off children. Try to avoid reversing entirely, since you wonât get a complete look if anyone is behind you.
Be particularly careful around crosswalks, intersections, and the sides of the road.
Trucks donât usually need to pass through small streets and neighborhoods, but this would be a time to really avoid them. Be sure to drive slower and be extra vigilant if some of these places cannot be avoided.
With these Halloween safety tips in mind, youâll be all set for safe driving this spooky season!
