Wondering where we’ve been?… 👀Don’t worry! Platform is still here!

Some of the team members have gone through a major move to a new city! James, Patrick, and Rachel have all made the jump to Chicago (comment if you can tell where they are) so it has been quite a transitional season!

Don’t worry, we’ll get Gabe here soon 😉 (currently pictured in North Carolina).

But now we’re back and ready to share some unconventional art with you, our unconventional audience. 😁

Opening night was a success! Time to meet the associate director, Elizabeth Maroshick!

Elizabeth is a junior at Notre Dame originally from Buffalo, NY. She is majoring in Film, Television, and Theatre with a concentration in film, and has a minor in Musical Theatre. This past year, she has played Roxane in FTT's production of Cyrano, and was involved with PEMCo's Bright Star and Young Frankenstein. She is thrilled to be working on her first Platform show with such a lovely group of people!

It’s opening night! So meet the director of Eleven Months of Nuclear Summer, Patrick Starner!

Patrick could not be more honored to be directing and producing Eleven Months of Nuclear Summer alongside an incredibly talented cast and crew. Previous credits include the world premieres of Coats, Winsor & Gertie and My Heart Says Go (University of Notre Dame). He is the Producing Artistic Director of Platform and has served in administrative and production roles at Gretna Theatre, Barrington Stage Company, Irish Theatre of Chicago, and Ireland’s Abbey Theatre.

Tickets are on sale for the virtual and in person shows this Friday-Sunday!

Let’s meet the incredible playwright for “Eleven Months of Nuclear Summer”!

Sophie McIntosh is a Brooklyn-based playwright raised in central Wisconsin. Her work has previously been developed by the Chain Theatre, the Bechdel Group, and Imaginarium Theatre Company in New York City, as well as through the Boston Theater Marathon and with Platform (a production company). She is a proud alum of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

Cast introduction!

Lyrics Medeiros will be playing the role of Kristen. Lyric is a junior at the University of Notre Dame studying English and Film, Television, and Theatre. Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, and with a great love for acting, Lyric is thankful for the opportunity to be in another Notre Dame FTT Production. You may have seen her last fall in the FTT production of "This is Modern Art" as Selena, in Season Nine of Hawaii Five 0, or on the video board at football games where she works as a sideline reporter. She looks forward to working with this cast, and to sharing the story of Eleven Months of Nuclear Summer!

Cast introductions!

The role of Simone will be played by Honora Whitmore. Honora has been in the South Bend theater scene for 7 years. She started in costuming for the South Bend Civic Theatre’s production of W***y Wonka Jr. then moved on to acting in productions of Fahrenheit 451 (Guy Montag), Dog Sees God (Marcy), The Hunchback of Notre Dame (Statue), and The Rocky Horror Picture Show (Columbia). For this show, Honora is excited to be in a production with characters so relatable to her own community.

Cast introductions!

Mariah Donley is excited to bring Viola to life in Eleven Months of Nuclear Summer. She has previously been involved with Acting Ensemble (I & You) and South Bend Civic Theatre (A Christmas Carol, Peter and the Starcatcher, Grand Concourse). When she is not acting, Mariah enjoys hugging her dog, reading, and fighting for gold in D&D. She would like to thank her mom, who has run lines with her for all shows since the beginning of time.

Cast Introductions!

The role of Leigh will be played by Rachel Thomas.

Rachel is an actress, singer, dancer, and choreographer who has worked professionally both onscreen and onstage. She has a passion for new work and loves collaborating with other creatives. Some of her favorite past roles have been Peter in Jesus Christ Superstar, Morticia in The Addams Family, and Cecily in The Importance of Being Earnest. Rachel is also the Marketing Director with Platform and is serving on this production as the Intimacy Director. She is excited to be bringing this new work to life!
