Meet Ashley Newman, Director of Corporate Affairs
"Creating amazing and memorable guest experiences is a passion of mine, and being a part of the What If Syndicate family has allowed me to showcase the best brands and restaurants in the game, and for that I'm truly grateful. I joined the team working directly for the partners a month before the world shut down (February 2020) due to the pandemic and I was fortunate enough to be able to shift directly into the world of operations in order to help where I could. This pivot allowed me to learn the front of house, as well as back of house operations, which fast-tracked my knowledge in the hospitality industry."Â
Ashley's hospitality career began at sbe Entertainment in Los Angeles, where she ran the VIP services department for a lifestyle hospitality company that managed award-winning hotels, residences, restaurants and nightclubs. At What If, she wears many hats and we're grateful to have her on our side!

Meet Nick Kennedy, Executive Sous Chef at etta in Scottsdale!

"What If has given me the opportunity to work alongside truly wonderful people while doing what I love to do.”
Nick joined our team in Arizona to open Maple & Ash Scottsdale in 2019 and worked there as a sous chef for over 2 years. This year he transitioned to etta to help open that new location and be a leader for our culinary team. Nick’s career started in 2009 and he has worked just about every position in the kitchen, from dish, to prep, to line cook, then lead line cook. He is a go-getter, always positive and an amazing leader for our chef team.

We're honored to be awarded Wine Program of The Year for Monarch Dallas in the 2022 CultureMap Dallas Tastemaker Awards! The Monarch cellar currently has around 19,000 bottles in inventory and 2500 different labels. They are showcasing wines from around the world- including the Middle East. There are five sommeliers on the floor with very diverse experiences and backgrounds so that any question can be answered. Our certifications on the Floor include Cicerone, WSET, Certified Spirits Specialists, and Court of Master Sommeliers.
