Posing tips and ideas

I'M NOT JUST WINGING IT. I'm a photography coach and while anyone can slap that title next to their name, I've invested in my education and certification to be the best teacher that I possibly can. Today I signed up for zoom calls with two other mentors in my field to get their take and input on some of the information I’ll be putting in my latest class. I share this with you so that you know you're not getting an "overnight" teacher or just one perspective. I’ve spent years learning, practicing, and consulting with other photographers to come up with the most effective and profitable strategies for growing a photography business from scratch. And I can’t wait to share it ALL with you!
CALLING ALL BOOKWORMS. I just finished reading Sacred Enneagram and here are 3 key takeaways I got from it: the enneagram is not a “horoscope” and shouldn’t be treated as such, but it IS a powerful tool for understanding ourselves and others better, and, when applied correctly, it can give us language for discussing our unique way of approaching the world and seeing the ways in which others may do so differently. What this means for you is that at every session you are dealing with a unique set of people with their own personalities and past experiences, and by better understanding YOURSELF you can connect more deeply with the families you photograph. Being able to establish trust, rapport, and a space of vulnerability with clients right off the bat is essential to achieving images that capture genuine emotion. Tell me in a comment: what's one book I should add to my reading list?
WOO OR NAH? In the photography world, you might have noticed a lot of interest about "woo" topics – things like mantras, astrology, affirmations, Law of Attraction, etc. In my mentoring, I use specific tools, formulas, and actionable steps to guide my clients where they want to go. Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like having achievable steps to follow and concrete information was what I needed when I was first starting out.
Just getting a few photos up to get this page rolling. :)
