ABOUT KIPP KOENIG

Kipp recently made his Off-Broadway debut as playwright and producer with The Glitch at the Jerry Orbach Theater, where it received strong reviews during its six-week run and was nominated for a BroadwayWorld Award for Best Play — raising half of its production budget from outside investors.

The play was previously developed as part of the Next Step Theatre Festival.

He earned his BFA in Musical Theatre from the University of Michigan in 1990, then built a 35-year career in technology and finance, writing plays, musicals, screenplays, and librettos whenever he could steal the time, studying with Gary Garrison, Linda Sherbert, and Ari Roth.

His screenplay Lost In His Prime won the 2004 Hollywood Gateway national screenplay competition.

Kipp is currently developing a new play exploring online dating and AI.

He lives outside New York City and is a member of the Dramatists Guild.

Applause, applause, applause! Thank you to Todd Henry Faulstich, Executive Director for Chicago's great Invictus Theatre Co, for coming to our lab this morning and sharing his production/business expertise!

ABOUT TODD HENRY FAULSTICH

Todd traces his love for theatre back to a Glee-like high school moment when, on a dare, he auditioned for the musical GREASE by singing Madonna’s “Like a Virgin” and dancing with the show’s director. He didn’t get that part, but it inspired him to spread his wings in acting and supporting the arts.

Mr. Faulstich is a multi-disciplined finance professional who spent the majority of his 30-year career in commercial and investment banking, helping businesses and high net worth individuals create and retain wealth.

Todd began his career at Bank of America after graduating from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with degrees in Accounting and Finance. In 2021, he left corporate America to pursue his passion for the arts.

Prior to retirement, Todd led mergers and acquisitions for a leading national automobile dealer group, helped start a private bank for the owners of Toyota and Lexus automobile dealership franchises, and was a founding member of U.S. Bank’s Entertainment Industries Group.

Todd resides in Chicago and loves to spend time with friends and family exploring the city. He is also an avid cook and entertainer who loves to travel and check countries off his adventure wishlist.

It is his sincere pleasure to help provide a platform for artists to passionately share their art with the world.

ABOUT THE PLAY

The Whitakers share a cramped life in modern-day suburbia. As Rick prepares for his annual trek to Alaska, wife Sheila keeps quiet about Rick’s secret until the unforgivable happens.

Daughter Missy supports the family on convenience store paychecks, while Barbara dreams of adulting with boyfriend Jimmy. But it all comes to a halt when narcissism breeds disaster. It’s a hopeless situation where boundaries are murky, and cruelty is family fun.
