A red brick cottage with decorative wood, cast iron, and terra cotta details. It was built in 1886 for the E Smith family, a fact that frustrates me to no end for the impossibility of further searching that common name. About 15 years ago it was restored and the details over the windows, previously plain white, were painted to their current gorgeous colors.

Bridgeport family sells home after 116 years: ‘This house has known us, kept us, and loved us’ Generations of the Slajchert family lived in the home for more than 100 years. Now the family is selling the property after the home’s last matriarch died last summer. She was 91.

Nobody should paint their brick. Except whoever painted this house, they get a pass. If you’re gonna paint your brick wall skip the developer gray give it a little whimsy like this.
