The Encompassing Center
A community funded mental health center for the Chicago residents of the Near West Side (including West Garfield Park, East Garfield Park, and North Lawndale)
Providing mental health services to the community, including therapy, substance use, case management, and trauma informed training.
π Community Care is Pride Care π
Pride Month is more than celebration β itβs also about creating communities where people feel protected, respected, and supported.
At The Encompassing Center, we recognize the importance of affirming mental health resources for LGBTQ+ individuals, particularly youth in underserved communities who may feel isolated or misunderstood.
Everyone deserves:
β¨ Safe spaces
β¨ Access to mental health support
β¨ Freedom to express themselves
β¨ A community that listens without judgment
Together, we can build stronger, healthier communities rooted in compassion and acceptance.
Love loudly. Support intentionally. Advocate daily. π³οΈβπ
π§ June is Menβs Mental Health Awareness Month π
Too many men suffer in silence because they were taught to βman up,β hide emotions, or carry pain alone. At The Encompassing Center, we want men β especially Black and Brown men β to know that vulnerability is not weakness and asking for help is strength.
Stress, trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, and burnout affect men every day, yet many never seek support due to stigma or lack of access to care.
This month, letβs normalize:
βοΈ Therapy
βοΈ Emotional honesty
βοΈ Rest
βοΈ Healthy coping skills
βοΈ Community support
Healing is for men too. π
