Dads Making a Difference has been selected as a key partner in LCCC’s Metallica Scholars Initiative, creating a new opportunity for fathers to build in-demand skills and prepare for new career pathways.

📣 Applications are open now! Custodial and noncustodial fathers interested in this opportunity are encouraged to apply for the Fall 2026 program.

Through this partnership, a select number of DADS participants will have the opportunity to complete Essential Systems Technician training, including hands-on instruction in HVAC, electrical systems, safety, and more with industry professionals at Advanced Comfort Solutions.

Participants will gain practical, in-demand skills that can help open the door to new career opportunities and create lasting impacts for their families.

The Electrical Exam Prep Course at LCCC helps apprentices and electricians sharpen the skills they’ll need when preparing for Journeyman or Master Electrician licensing exams.

Training includes:

📚 Meet Jason Clark, Adult Basic Education Instructor at our Laramie County Community College - Laramie Campus!

Jason has been part of LCCC for the past five years, but his history here goes back even further. After first teaching at LCCC in 2009, he later returned as an adjunct instructor and became a full-time faculty member in 2025.

Today, Jason primarily teaches English, writing, and social studies, along with courses in digital literacy, financial literacy, and advanced ESL. For Jason, the best part of the job is simple: helping students. He loves working with students who are full of dreams and optimism and helping them build the skills they need to move toward their goals.

A passion for language extends beyond the classroom, too. Jason has an interest in linguistics and has even studied the language of the Northern Arapaho people.

Outside of work, you’ll find him writing, reading, playing billiards, or getting in one of his nearly daily four-mile walks. And if there are chips nearby, he probably won’t turn them down. 😊

We’re glad to have Jason as part of our Outreach & Workforce Development team in Laramie!

Registration closes September 18 for LCCC’s upcoming CNC Precision Machining Bootcamp.

This hands-on program gives participants experience with precision measurement, print reading, manual machining, CNC milling and turning, programming, setup, operation, and inspection.

🖨️ What if you left class with your own 3D printer?

That’s exactly what you’ll do in this hands-on workshop at the LCCC Concept Forge.

On September 26, participants will build and set up their own Bambu Lab A1 3D Printer from start to finish. Along the way, you’ll learn how to assemble and calibrate your printer, load filament, prepare models in Bambu Studio, adjust print settings, troubleshoot common issues, and complete your first 3D print.

And when class is over? The printer goes home with you.
