BIG NEWS for Wyoming Jeepers! The Morrison Jeep Trail is OPEN again!

After being heavily damaged during the June 2022 flooding, portions of this iconic trail have been closed for years. Floodwaters changed the course of the Clarks Fork River in places, washing away sections of the lower road and causing significant damage that required major repairs.

After months of work and cooperation between the Shoshone National Forest, Wyoming State Trails and BLM Wyoming, the Morrison Jeep Trail officially reopened September 11!

If Morrison has been sitting on your bucket list, remember this is still a technical JEEP TRAIL. The steep grades, narrow shelf road and tight switchbacks require a capable vehicle and an experienced driver.

The Forest Service is also asking drivers to help with traffic flow. If you're doing an out-and-back rather than the full loop, head UP in the morning and DOWN in the late afternoon.

Construction will continue along portions of the lower trail, and additional maintenance on the upper trail toward Highway 212 is planned for next summer.
