This plan was devised under the Biden administration. Something similar happened during the Obama years where DHS was refusing to record abuse incidents in detention so that it could claim abuses were not happening.
When it comes to immigration, the line between republican and democrat becomes pretty blurry.
It would be one thing for Biden to do nothing to help immigrants, not keep his promises and such. But it gets annoying when in addition to fake promises, they also come up with new ways to f**k over immigrants.
A majority of those fast-tracked were asylum seekers, fleeing violence. It isn't hard to bully vulnerable people, but celebrating policies that do that "on the books" is pretty low.
Immigration court officials cheered results of fast-tracked deportation orders, emails reveal The San Francisco Immigration Court last year fast-tracked the cases of immigrants whose...

DACA was only possible because so many young dreamers were deported until people started caring. It is great that DACA is being protected, but now it should also be expanded to include the millions of Dreamers who were too young to apply for DACA.
These need to be protected! Every year 75,000 of these invisible dreamers graduate from high schools around this country, with very few prospects for moving forward in life.
Help us get the word out and use your celebration to bring attention to people who lucked out. . .
Expand DACA for All Dreamers With the Supreme Court upholding DACA, I call on you and all elected officials to add to this program the countless other young people who…

Something tells us this isn't all happening by accident. Immigrants were already behind when it came to fighting their cases, can you imagine trying to do that while the world is shut down? This is why we need a Covid-19 Stay of Removal for people like this: https://act.dreamactivist.org/petitions/Mjk/sign
"This week an 8-year-old, a 5-year-old, and a teenage single mother with an infant were preparing for imminent court dates and deadlines in New York, lawyers representing them said. With children trapped indoors in shelters and foster-care homes, many young migrants who don’t have lawyers may not even be aware of ongoing court cases that could quickly end with orders for them to be deported."

'Important Step' as Federal Judge Orders ICE to Release Detained Immigrants at Heightened Risk for COVID-19 "It is unfortunate we had to resort to the courts for this relief; ICE should be doing this on its own," said the San Francisco public defender.
