🌦️ LET’S TALK WEATHER 🌦️
With the forecast showing a mix of sunshine, rain, and possible storms over the next week, I wanted to take a moment to explain how weather decisions are made for lessons.
☀️ Temperature Policy
We already have a standing rule that if the air temperature is below 55°F, the pool will not open. Kids simply cannot enjoy or benefit from lessons when the weather is too cold.
⛈️ Thunder & Lightning Policy (15/15 Rule)
If we hear thunder, we immediately clear the water. We then wait 15 minutes of complete silence before returning to the pool. If another thunderclap is heard during that waiting period, the timer restarts.
If weather delays don’t work with your schedule or you have other commitments planned, please feel free to use one of our makeup lesson options and reschedule yourself for another day.
💧 A Friendly Reminder
We need this rain! After a very light winter, this moisture is important for our area. Summer weather can be unpredictable, and I truly appreciate everyone’s flexibility, understanding, and patience with something that is completely outside of my control.
🏊 Indoor Backup Pool
One thing I’m especially excited about this summer is that we now have an indoor backup option available. While I can’t move all 20+ daily students indoors, I can reduce the schedule and accommodate many lessons rather than canceling an entire day.
This gives us more opportunities than we’ve had in years to keep lessons moving forward, maintain progress, and avoid large numbers of cancellations. Between our indoor option, scheduled makeup days, and additional availability, we have multiple ways to keep your swimmer on track.
📅 July Availability
I’ve also heard a rumor going around that July is completely full.
That is not true!
There are still July lesson spots available. To help make the schedule sustainable during my busiest season, lessons have been adjusted to 25 minutes, which allows me a short break between students to hydrate, reapply sunscreen, and stay energized throughout the day.
There are openings available beginning July 1st, and I would love to get your swimmer on the schedule.

Thank you all for your support, understanding, and flexibility. I look forward to seeing everyone at the pool—rain or shine (when safe, of course)! 💙

🚨 PARENTS OF SHY KIDS… READ THIS! 🚨
If your child cried, clung to you, refused to let me hold them, or spent their first lesson saying “NOPE!”… don’t panic. ❤️
Look at these sisters.
One jumped right in on day one. She went off the diving board into my arms and was swimming like we’d known each other forever.
Her sister? Totally different story.
She didn’t want me to hold her. She didn’t want to leave Mom. In fact, I couldn’t even carry her across the pool until lesson two or three.
And guess what?
THAT IS COMPLETELY NORMAL. 👏
Not every child starts in the same place. Some kids need a little extra time to watch, warm up, build trust, and decide I’m not so bad after all. 😆
This is why I always tell parents: Don’t judge a swim journey by the first lesson.
I’ve taught thousands of kids, and some of my strongest swimmers started out as the ones hiding behind Mom’s legs.
💦 Confidence comes before swimming.
💦 Trust comes before confidence.
💦 Sometimes all they need is time.
Also… did you know siblings can share lessons?
👧👦 Brothers and sisters can share a 30- or 45-minute lesson.
✅ No extra charge
✅ Same lesson rate
✅ More family-friendly scheduling

Tell me below 👇
Was your child the “jump right in” kid or the “give me 3 lessons to decide if I like you” kid? 😂
Boy, do I wish I had recorded today. 😂
I’ve been in the water since 8:30 this morning and will be teaching until 7:00 tonight. At this point, I’m pretty sure I’m growing gills. 🐟
If you’ve sent me a text, Facebook message, email, carrier pigeon, smoke signal, or telepathic thought today, please know that today is probably not the day for an immediate response unless you have an appointment today 😅
I promise I’ll get back to you in the morning after I’ve had some sleep and enough coffee to function like a normal human again. ☕️
Until then, I’m off to finish teaching, survive the day, and get to bed embarrassingly early so I can do it all again tomorrow! 💙🏊♀️

📣 Schedule & Location Updates!
Location information has been updated, and messages for this week’s swimmers have been sent out to everyone who needs them.
To make things easier, I’ve added a direct link to our Locations Page in your booking confirmation email. Once you receive your successful booking confirmation, you’ll also have immediate access to the correct location information for your lesson. I’ll still do my best to send location reminders before your first lesson, but now you’ll have access to the information right away.
☀️ Summer Schedule Updates
Miss Frankie’s summer calendar is now posted and available for booking!

My remaining summer openings are very limited. I currently only have a few 20-minute lesson spots available in July and August at the outdoor pool. If you’ve been waiting to book, now is the time!

👶 Waterbabies Update
I’ve added two Waterbabies classes every Saturday in August.
Unfortunately, I was unable to secure access to Cole Pool for additional Waterbabies classes. They kindly declined our request, so we’ll have to patiently wait until the school year begins and we can return to our larger pool with locker rooms, showers, and more space for families.
I do have a few openings in one Waterbabies class at the outdoor pool, but that location simply isn’t ideal for hosting 10–20 families comfortably. Thank you all for your patience and understanding as we work through facility availability.
I’m hoping to add a short “Introduction to Waterbabies” video to the website soon to help new families know exactly what to expect!

🌤️ Miss Frankie is available Fridays from 1:00 PM–4:00 PM for approximately five weeks throughout June and July. We’ve also built in a few makeup days for weather, but historically our Friday afternoon weather has been great, so I don’t anticipate many issues.
🌦️ Weather Policy Reminder
With the way the weather has been lately, I wanted to remind everyone that we LOVE learning on a gloomy day! As long as the air temperature is above 55°F, we will proceed with lessons as scheduled.
Our pool is heated, which is something we’re incredibly fortunate (and a little spoiled!) to have. The biggest factor is making sure the air temperature is comfortable and safe for our swimmers, especially the little ones.
If weather conditions require us to make adjustments, I will send a text message that morning before my 7:00 AM lesson to keep you updated. For families with lessons before 10:00 AM, I always have a backup plan available and can work with you to reschedule or move your lesson if needed.
Thank you for your flexibility and trust. We are excited to keep swimming all summer long—sunshine or clouds! ☀️☁️🏊
Thank you for supporting Swim with Britt! We are looking forward to an amazing summer in the water with your families. 💙
This summer has been absolutely amazing ALREADY!!!
I have watched students who were scared of the water last summer come in this year ready to cannonball, dive for toys, swim with friends, and have fun. Some of these same kids cried when we asked them to sit on a noodle, float on their back, or try a new position in the water. Now they are confident and excited to swim.
I am so impressed with all of the parents. Thank you for making swimming a priority. Thank you for bringing your kids to lessons, practicing on vacations, using pool time for learning, and yes—even using a few bribes when needed! 😂
I know part of this growth comes with age and learning, but there is something really special about seeing a 4, 5, or 6-year-old come back with a strong foundation and confidence because they worked through the hard parts in past years (or during winter session).
I am so proud of my students and their families. I love my method, I love watching it work, and I love seeing these kids become safe, confident swimmers.
That brings me to some exciting news!
I just got permission to add my favorite girl, Miss Frankie, as an instructor on Fridays from 1:00–4:00 PM!
Would anyone be interested in Friday lessons in June?
My thought is to use Fridays for lessons and keep weekends indoors available as backup days on her schedule if we need them because of weather.
With the Y closed and every spot on my calendar completely booked, this could help more kids get swimming lessons this summer!
Miss Frankie is amazing, and the kids LOVE her. Sometimes they even like her more than me (and that’s okay 😆). The funny thing is, some kids who don’t listen to me will listen to Miss Frankie, and some kids who don’t listen to her will listen to me. We make a great team!
Also, thank you for being patient with me lately.
My inbox is completely full with texts, emails, and Messenger messages. For the first time in a long time, I actually have Saturday and Sunday off to do NOTHiNG and I plan to spend part of that time catching up on every message, updating the website, creating clearer signs and directions for the new location, and improving communication for everyone.
Many people don’t realize that most days I’m teaching from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM and if you do that math that’s about 15-20 students per day with very few breaks to ensure optimal availability for teaching instead of admin work. It’s a lot of sun, a lot of swimming, and a lot of smiles. I’m already a little sunburned this week! ☀️
I also have a confession—my phone is currently on its last leg. It only charges on a base, and I can’t really use it while it’s charging. That has made responding quickly much harder than usual.
The good news is that changes are coming. I’m replacing my phone, improving the website, and putting systems in place so you won’t have to rely on a last-minute morning text from me to know where to go or what to expect.
My goal is for every family to feel informed, prepared, and confident from the moment they sign up.
Thank you for supporting Swim with Britt. I can’t wait to show you more of what happens behind the scenes and share more videos and success stories from our amazing swimmers in the coming weeks! ❤️
