Overseen by a renowned French distillery, Absinthe One gets its pronounced and pleasing herbaceousness from our blend of botanicals that focuses on absinthe’s vital ingredient, Wormwood, while the natural essence of sage adds dimension to the bouquet. To remove harsh flavors and ensure Absinthe One’s signature delicate, clean and crisp yet aromatic flavor, we age our absinthe in glass demijohns for a minimum of 9 months and up to 3 years before bottling. When it has matured, the absinthe is lightly diluted with natural spring water from the Vosges Mountains and bottled at 90 proof. Our absinthe is so pure, it has barely half the calories of other absinthe. While anise is the ingredient in traditional absinthe that causes the trademark “Ouzo effect,” or clouding, associated with absinthe, we sought a crystal clear absinthe that could shine on its own or serve as the magic ingredient in innovative cocktails. So our master distiller uses only a small amount of star anise to impart the delicate flavor of anise while avoiding the cloudiness of common absinthe. This attention to detail and hands-on approach results in a focused and clear spirit with an outstanding flavor profile and versatility.
