Dear Deming Elementary School Families,

We're teaming up with Books Are Fun and their Book Blast program to help grow our students' home libraries and encourage more reading time over screen time. For more than 30 years, Books Are Fun has helped promote literacy by getting great books into the hands of students.

Today, our students learned about the Book Blast Program and the importance of having their own books at home. Tonight, we are asking you to take 7 minutes to support our Student Home Library initiative.

Register your student(s).
Send invitations to at least 10 friends or family members to support our students (don't worry, all the information you provide is secure and never shared with anyone).

Thank you for helping our students have more books

We have so appreciated having Mrs. Moncrief on our Deming team this year. She brings so much experience and knowledge to our Special Education team.

At Deming learning is more than just reading, writing and math. We work hard to develop students' strengths in other areas too and keep our days grounded in research-based practices. Check out Mrs. Flock's class art work and Ms. Lawrence's class doing a movement break to help their neurons be ready to learn.

Mr. Eastman has done a phenomenal job bringing creativity into our students’ lives.

Mrs. Flock was our staff member of the week last week! She has been part of our Deming community for many years, serves our school in many ways and loves each of her students deeply. Principal Lenhart still has a book her daughter wrote in Mrs. Flock's class 13 years ago. :)

Our first staff member of the week was Ms. Stogsdill! Each week we will highlight another staff member who makes our Grizzly community a wonderful place to be. Please join us in celebrating this amazing member of our team!

We are looking for a general paraeducator to join our Deming team for this school year. If you are interested or know someone who is, please have them visit the district website job postings or call our office.

Our staff want to make Deming's last year filled with joy for our students. If you want to participate, feel free to enjoy a little dress up option every week. Thanks to Mrs. Coonts for creating this fun list for us and Ms. Lawrence for the idea.
