Cheyenne Kennel Club
Cheyenne Wyoming Local AKC Dog Club The Cheyenne Kennel Club has been a part of the community since 1948 with our first dog show held on June 27, 1948.
Today we host a three day event in Cheyenne (typically Labor Day Weekend), which includes one day of all obedience and rally competitions and two days of conformation shows. Our club members consist of local citizens with a passion for canines to educate our community about pure bred dogs such as responsible dog ownership with focus on obedience training and health issues common to pure bred dogs.

With the overwhelming number of people the last two years, we have decided to step-up our game! We will offer TWO options for first-day hikers on January 1, 2026. Both start at 1:30 PM at the Visitor Center.
The first option is Kate's Trail, 3/4 of a mile, on a concrete trail.
For those who want more adventure, we will have a longer and more moderate difficulty hike that follows other trails for roughly 2.5 miles.
Save the date: First Day Hikes - Curt Gowdy State Park
If anyone with dogs or cats in the fire evacuation area needs assistance, please contact the Cheyenne Kennel Club- Kathy Spahr at 307-631-4288 and we will get you in touch with someone to help.
