It certainly feels like summer out there. Nothing says summer to me like hiking, camping, and water sports. What are your favorite places to go around here?
Winter may be back but it won’t stay forever… are you ready for summer activities? Now is a good time to take care of those aches and pains so you don’t miss out on any of the summer fun!
Nothing beats a sunny day in Cheyenne Wyoming! What have you been doing to get your daily dose of vitamin D?
Should you workout everyday? No, you should give yourself at least one recovery day. If you work yourself into it slowly and if you switch off which muscle groups you are using then you can safely workout most days of the week. The important thing is to listen to your body and to be consistent. A lighter workout done consistently is better than a hard workout done inconsistently.
Ice or heat? I get this question a lot, and here is the answer… usually I recommend ICE, but not always. Ice is very good for acute injuries and injury prevention. HEAT is a good option for chronic injuries or if a person is sensitive to ice.
You want to avoid heat if your injury is still in an inflammatory stage of healing (the first 2 weeks) because it can make your swelling worse which then extends healing time.
